About Us

Established in 1975, “Kallol of NJ” is one of the leading socio-cultural organizations in the United States with a brand name recognized across the globe. The organization was established by a group of visionary Bengalis who migrated to the United States. We are the pioneer in upholding the rich Bengali tradition and culture away from home.

Dear Kallol members, Kallol constitution directs us in “Section 12, clause B” that life members will need to pay a $100 per year for Kallol club house maintenance with some “time bound” exception for club house donors and new Kallol life members. We are all trying to comply with this regulation. Please help us in this effort.

From the desk of president

Arijit Chatterjee, President of Kallol of NJ

Dear Member,

As your proud President of “Kallol of NJ”, our own club, I welcome you to the 47th edition of New Jersey Durga Puja, 2023.

Thanks to all of you, our club is 49 years young today! We are proud to carry the legacy of a group of visionary Bengali Indians who came here almost 5 decades ago to carve a niche for themselves in establishing a cultural and social base in the United States.

Thriving since inception, Kallol has emerged as the pioneer organization of the largest ethnic group from Eastern India living in the Tri-state region of this nation.

Kallol believes in the idea of Utsav, which is an embodiment of socializing in a quintessential Bengali way during the Pujas, with the right blend of puja rituals, fun, food and frolic.

I thank you for your continued patronage and let me ask you to please take a moment to talk to me or any of my fellow members and be as candid as you can. Your feedback is a strength for us to improve, and we will make every effort on our part to make your experience enjoyable and memorable.

With best wishes during this festive season,

Arijit Chatterjee President, Kallol of NJ and Chairman, New Jersey Durga Puja 2023

The Club House

In 2018, Kallol of New Jersey set precedence by acquiring a property as a quintessential gathering place, now known as the Kallol Club House (KCH). Modelled after the club culture of Bengal, ranging from the ones at the “পাড়ার মোড়ে” to the Saturday and Calcutta clubs, KCH is the first socio-cultural club owned by a Bengali organization in the United States. This is a haven of comfort where you reminisce addas with friends, with “চা আর বেগুনি”, after a monsoon downpour or a spirited debate following a grand Derby. Watch the next cricket match on a big screen while sipping on your favourite drink made by our expert mixologists, play a hand of bridge or carrom, sweat it out to Zumba music or with aces on the TT floor equipped with multiple international quality boards. Partake in the entertainment provided, ranging from band music to classical repertoire; grow yourself with Toastmaster, or indulge in the creativity of the community’s culinary artists in GastroHub. Come here to spend an evening or come here to host your next social gathering. With all necessary amenities, KCH can be your next event hot spot, be it a “ঘরোয়া পূজো” or a milestone celebration. This is a place where everybody truly knows your name. You come here because you belong.
