a family since 1975

Kallol of New Jersey was founded on April 13th, 1975 — Pohela Boishakh. We are a full-spectrum community organization: we celebrate culture, compete in sports, run blood drives and community programs, and stand by each other through every season of life.

We are not just a religious or cultural organization. We are your neighbours, your team-mates, your family away from home.

Dear Kallol Club Members, it is with sincere humility and gratitude that I assume the role of President. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to our Founding Members, past Presidents, Executive Committee members, volunteers, and sponsors whose dedication has built the strong foundation we stand on today.

Five decades
of history

From 24 families gathering on a Bengali New Year's Day in Edison, to one of the most celebrated South Asian cultural organizations in the tri-state area.

1975 — Founded
Founded on Pohela Boishakh by 24 members. First Bijoya Sammilanee at Glenfield Park, Montclair.
1976 — Literary Roots
First quarterly newsletter and Kallol Sahitya Patrika literary magazine launched.
1977 — Durga Puja Begins
Launched NJ Durga Puja — now the flagship annual celebration drawing thousands.
2026 — 50 Years Strong
Celebrating five decades of culture, service, and community in New Jersey.
